2026 FLAG Comedy Night Raises Over $82,000 for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research!
What an incredible night! On September 9, 2026, our community came together at the Hermosa Beach Comedy & Magic Club for the 2nd Annual Fight Like the Averys (FLAG) Comedy Night, honoring the beautiful lives of Kalea and Noah Avery.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, guests, and supporters, we raised over $82,000 to support pediatric brain cancer research! Surpassing last year's fundraising total of $50,000, this year's event was a wonderful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together for a cause that matters so deeply.
The evening was filled with laughter, love, and meaningful moments as we remembered Kalea and Noah and celebrated the incredible legacy they continue to inspire.
We were especially grateful to hear from Dr. Ashley Margol and Dr. Katrina O'Halloran of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, who shared insight into the important pediatric brain cancer research made possible through the Fight Like the Averys Grant. Their work is a powerful reminder of why continued funding is so critical.

Fighting for a Future Without Pediatric Brain Cancer
In 2021, the Uncle Kory Foundation pledged to fund the Fight Like the Averys Grant (F.L.A.G.), an annual $50,000 grant dedicated to advancing pediatric brain cancer research, with a special focus on medulloblastoma whenever possible.
Inspired by Kalea and Noah Avery and their courageous battles with medulloblastoma, the grant was created to bring hope to children and families facing this devastating disease. Today, their legacy continues through innovative research and the pursuit of better, more effective treatments for pediatric brain cancer.
To date, the Uncle Kory Foundation has committed more than $350,000 in research funding in their memory, and events like FLAG Comedy Night help ensure this important work continues.
